Quilt Arts, LLC Longarm Machine Quilting Services 2315 Lakeland Drive, Suite C, Flowood, MS 39232 601-519-4915 quiltartsonline.com Pricing and Guidelines for Custom Quilting: •Longarm pricing is based on the total square inches of your quilt top. •To determine total square inches, multiply the length times the width and multiply by .015. For instance, a quilt top that measures 97” x 73” would be a total of 7081 inches. Then you will multiply 7081 x .015 for a total base price of $107.00. •Pricing begins at .015 per square inch for simple all-over meandering designs. Basic meandering is a continuous pattern from edge to edge. This method does not incorporate the unique design elements of your quilt. Custom Quilting uses a variety of patterns to highlight the uniqueness of your quilt. Custom quilting can include stippling, separate designs in individual blocks, outlining of blocks and design, free hand techniques, and patterns in sashing and borders. Several sewing techniques may be used on a single top. Custom designs and complex patterns are priced based on the design elements selected and range from .02 to .06 per square inch. During design consultations decisions will be made and estimates will be provided. •Minimum charge of $60.00 applies to all longarm services. •Needles are changed with each new quilt that is loaded onto the longarm. $1.00 needle fee will be charged per quilt. •Minimum thread fee of $5.00 will be charged per quilt. Special threads, large quilts, elaborate patterns will be charged an additional fee. •Basting services are available for those who want to hand quilt or quilt using their home sewing machines. Basting is done every 4 to 5 inches and is a stitch that is easily ripped out. Basting fees are as follows: • Twin - $60.00 • Queen/Full - $80.00 • King - $100.00 Tips for Preparing Your Quilt for Longarm Quilting: •Press your quilt top and backing. Give your quilt top and backing a “hair cut” by removing all lose threads. Remove the selvage edge from the backing pieces. Your backing seams should be ½” and should be pressed open. •Your backing and your batting should be 4” – 6” larger than your quilt top. •Ensure that all seams are fully sewn. An open seam could catch the foot of the machine and cause disastrous results. •Three dimensional embellishments such as buttons, beads, heavy trims, etc. will interfere with longarm quilting and should be applied after longarm quilting is completed. You will need to remove them prior to quilting. •Square your quilt top and back. •Quilt Arts carries a variety of batting for purchase. • Dream Cotton in 100% cotton and 80%/20% blends • The Warm Company in 100% cotton and 80%/20% blends (in bags and on a roll) • The Tuscany Collection in Wool and Silk • Fairfield’s new Bamboo batting Because we are most comfortable with the results achieved using these battings, our longarm quilters use batting purchased at Quilt Arts exclusively. •Quilt top and backing should be hanging on a hanger.
