Ascot Quilt Class
Instructor: Marilyn Rose
From the pattern designed by Bethany Reynolds, we will learn easy ways to create kaleidoscope blocks, as well as machine appliqué to create a wonderful two-color quilt.
This class includes 2 three hour sessions.

Class Supplies: Rotary cutter with sharp blades, mat (or use our new Ginger mats in the studio), 6” x 24” cutting ruler, 12” x 12” squaring ruler, flat flower head pins, seam ripper, neutral sewing thread, one standard 6 ¾” CD (to be used as template), template plastic, pen/pencil, scissors, sewing machine, and basic sewing supplies
Fabric Kit: Ascot Quilt Kit
Instructor Marilyn Rose: Marilyn began sewing her own clothes in junior high school and has always loved handwork of any kind. But it was in 1978 that "I was bitten by the quilting bug", she says and her fabric life has centered on that. Marilyn is a recognized circuit teacher for the Gulf States Quilting Association and her quilts have hung in regional shows as well as the Houston International Quilt Show and renowned quilter Ricky Tims art gallery in Colorado.
Marilyn's favorite classes to teach include "stack & whack", Bargello, kaleidoscope and "anything with a wedge ruler". "I love to watch the little light bulb go on in my student's head", she says. She says teaching is pure joy for her and she hopes when her students complete one of her classes they "look at fabric differently".
Marilyn works full time for a Jackson law firm and guess what she does in her spare time? Yes, she quilts! Marilyn is a member of several guilds and, to put another feather in her cap, over the years she has had eight of her quilts travel with the Hoffman Challenge Competition. Quite an accomplishment, Marilyn!
